Booksellers at ABA member stores that did not have an ABC Children’s Institute scholarship winner in 2015 or 2016 can apply now for a publisher-sponsored scholarship to the 2017 Children’s Institute. The American Booksellers Association’s fifth Children’s Institute (Ci5) will be held at the Red Lion Hotel on the River – Jantzen Beach in Portland, Oregon, from April 5–7, 2017. Registration will open in January.
Scholarships will cover the conference fee, the cost of airfare or ground transportation up to $400, and two hotel nights plus tax. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2017.
ABA members are also invited to share their ideas for Ci5 breakout education session topics, roundtables, keynote speakers, featured talks, and education for newer booksellers, as well as suggestions for which general bookselling panels from the upcoming Winter Institute should be offered again at Ci5.
