Through January 31, booksellers can submit applications for publisher-sponsored scholarships to the 2017 ABC Children’s Institute, to be held at the Red Lion Hotel on the River – Jantzen Beach in Portland, Oregon, from April 5–7, 2017.
Scholarships are open to booksellers from ABA member stores that did not have a Children’s Institute scholarship winner in 2015 or 2016. The electronic application form on BookWeb will be open until January 31. Registration for the Children’s Institute, which is open to all ABA member booksellers, is scheduled to open in January.
Scholarships will cover the conference fee, the cost of airfare or ground transportation up to $400, and two hotel nights plus tax.
ABA members are also invited to share their ideas for Ci5 breakout education session topics, roundtables, keynote speakers, featured talks, and education for newer booksellers, as well as suggestions for which general bookselling panels from the upcoming Winter Institute should be offered again at Ci5.
