The American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression’s (ABFFE) online auction of original children’s art by 50 of the book industry’s leading artists and illustrators is underway. The auction, which features works from the likes of Marla Frazee, Barbara McClintock, Chris Raschka, and Adam Rex, began on eBay at noon EST on Tuesday, November 27, and will run till Tuesday afternoon, December 3, at myworld.ebay.com/abffe.

“It’s going to be a fun week,” said ABFFE President Chris Finan. “All of the pieces are wonderful, and we expect a lot of bidding. We are enormously grateful for the support of the artists and their fans.”

The Holiday Children’s Art Auction helps support the free speech rights of kids. ABFFE and the National Coalition Against Censorship co-founded the Kids’ Right to Read Project to support students, teachers, and librarians who are fighting censorship at the local level. ABFFE is also a sponsor of Banned Books Week.

ABFFE is still working from temporary quarters following Hurricane Sandy but can be reached by e-mail at info@abffe.org or by phone at (917) 509-0340.
