All About Webinars

Registration is open for the webinar Introduction to Taxonomy and Views, which will take place on Wednesday, November 4, from 2:00 to 3:30 EST. A 60-minute presentation will be followed by a 30-minute question-and-answer period.

The webinar will cover the basics of Drupal taxonomy — the way data is organized into categories and subcategories — with a focus on creating taxonomy for the “event” content type. An introduction to Drupal Views will also be presented, including a look at the Views interface, how to edit an existing View, how to customize the “event” View with color-coding, and how to filter using taxonomy.

Register for the November 4 webinar here.

Recordings of past webinars are available in the IndieCommerce Webinar Center on Booksellers have called the webinars “instructive and thorough,” saying that they learned “new tricks.”

Advanced Search to Return on November 3

Beginning Tuesday, November 3, the advanced search function will be enabled automatically for all IndieCommerce sites. To create a link to it from a menu on the store homepage, link to “/search/advanced_search.”

Stores that don’t want advanced search on their sites should contact IndieCommerce staff to have it disabled.

With advanced search, customers will be able to locate books by a wide range of attributes, including publisher, price, age range, publication date, availability, and more. About 25 different attributes will be searchable.

Administrators can filter advanced search by additional criteria, including Ingram discount codes and Ingram Demand (also called “Ingram Desire.”)

Booksellers are encouraged to share their thoughts, questions, or suggestions with the IndieCommerce team at
