At BookExpo 2018, which will be held May 30 to June 1 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, booksellers have two opportunities to talk e-commerce with industry colleagues:
E-commerce Marketing Tips and Tactics Roundtable
Join fellow booksellers for an in-person roundtable discussion from 1:00 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, in Room 1E10. In this session, booksellers will exchange online marketing strategies that have worked (and not worked). Topics may include but are not limited to: newsletter marketing, local search optimization, social media marketing, and video marketing.
Booksellers who are interested in stopping by should tell the IndieCommerce team what they would like to discuss. Registration is not required; walk-ins are welcome.
For booksellers who want to learn more about online marketing tips and tactics but can’t make it to BookExpo, join colleagues for an online video chat this Thursday, May 17, at 11:00 a.m. EST. E-mail IndieCommerce Director Phil Davies for the link. The in-person and online roundtable discussions are open to all ABA member stores, regardless of IndieCommerce participation.
IndieCommerce One-on-One Sessions
One-on-one sessions with IndieCommerce staff are open to both IndieCommerce and non-IndieCommerce stores. Participating stores can meet with staff to discuss their website; non-participating stores can learn more about the premier e-commerce and online marketing solution for independent bookstores and the new IndieLite, which was designed for stores just starting with e-commerce or with limited time and resources.
Booksellers can sign up to reserve a time to meet with IndieCommerce staff in the ABA Member Lounge, Booth 721 on the trade show floor. Walk-ins are also welcome.
ABA Member Lounge hours are:
- Wednesday, May 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday, May 31, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (closed from 2:15 to 4:15 p.m. for the ABA Annual Membership Meeting and Town Hall)
- Friday, June 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Booksellers can register for free badges to BookExpo by providing their ABA member ID number during the registration process. More information about ABA’s programming at BookExpo can be found on BookWeb.org.
