On April 29, independent bookstores across the nation will celebrate Independent Bookstore Day with in-store parties, author readings, giveaways, prize drawings, and more.
As part of the celebration, independent bookstores in the greater Seattle area are partnering for the third consecutive year to offer the Indie Bookstore Challenge.
Customers who visit all 19 participating bookstores on April 29 and get their passport stamped at each store will receive a 25 percent discount at all participating stores for a year.
Those visiting three or more bookstores will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win bookstore gift cards.
In 2015, the inaugural year for the Indie Bookstore Challenge, 42 enthusiastic readers visited all participating stores, earning themselves a yearlong 25 percent discount at each store and the title of “Indie Bookstore Champ.” In 2016, 120 readers met the challenge.
