Libro.fm is Celebrating Independent Bookstore Day

In preparation for Independent Bookstore Day [29], April 27, Libro.fm is asking booksellers help to get authors to show their support (see author quotes collected so far [30]) and to spread the word about why bookstores matter. Authors can: let their readership know they can get the audiobook version of their titles through their local bookstore; send a quote to Libro.fm [31] in support of indie bookstores; or send in a video [31] talking about what bookstores mean to them, how they describe booksellers, and what their local bookstore is. Authors will get a complimentary three-month membership when they submit a quote or video.

Bookseller Playlists

A number of booksellers have created playlists of their favorite titles:

Booksellers can submit their own playlists here [36].

Breaking Up With Audible

Libro.fm has launched a movement intended to encourage, motivate, and reward customers for making the switch to Libro.fm. According to Libro.fm, the encouragement comes from listeners via #AudiobookSwitch, the motivation is indie bookstores, and the reward is three audiobooks for the price of one.

Here is a simple guide [37] that explains how it works; assets can be found here [38].

As you share your reasons for making the #AudiobookSwitch, check out the Audible breakup letter [39] first posted by Tattered Cover [40].

Libro.fm’s Bookseller Hub [41] is the place for all important links, tips, and assets. Visit the Bookseller Hub now [41].

Libro.fm is fully integrated with IndieCommerce [42], and a co-branded storefront is fast, free, and easy to set up. For more information about creating a storefront, contact bookstores@libro.fm [43]
