Small Business Saturday Kit Offers Easy-to-Use Marketing Tools [3]

Small Business Saturday #shopsmall heart [5]To help businesses get ready for Small Business Saturday [6] on November 26, American Express has compiled a toolkit [7] featuring a collection of links to downloadable marketing materials, including logos, banners, social media posts, a press release template, and more. The toolkit aims to make it easy for participating small businesses to promote Small Business Saturday to fellow business owners, consumers, and employees.

In addition to providing materials to easily promote Small Business Saturday, American Express is encouraging cardholders to shop small during the holiday season by offering two times the points [8] on purchases made at small retailers. The promotion runs from now through the end of the year for cardholders who enroll their cards in the program. See the full list of eligible credit cards here [9].

Downloadable resources for Small Business Saturday, including the new marketing toolkit, can be found in the Small Business Saturday Designs & Downloads folder [10] on BookWeb.

Among the items available in the toolkit are:

  • Blue and white logos for Shop Small and Small Business Saturday
  • Consumer handouts featuring the Shop Small message “Shop where you live. Love where you shop,” as well as handouts for fellow small business owners to encourage participation
  • A “Show love, #shopsmall” heart to signify support for small businesses
  • Social media posts to rally small businesses and consumers on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Banners for websites, blogs, or social media
  • Sample e-mails to fellow business owners, consumers, and employees
  • A press release template

The toolkit also includes tips for how to get other small business owners excited about Small Business Saturday and ideas for how to include employees, consumers, and communities in the festivities.

On November 26, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, small retailers across the nation will celebrate Small Business Saturday [6] and indie booksellers will be participating in the fourth annual Indies First [11].
